Hi Jeannie - thanks for your kind words. I've learned so much along the way and don't want others to suffer as I did since it took me so long to get all that research done. So happy you might find it useful. All the best, Carol

So happy to hear your radiation treatments worked out for you. The study said it was pretty positive for those who hadn't had it too long. Did you get your form fitted jason mask? I kept my for awhile but it finally just fell apart. High five and a big hug so very happy it worked for you. Mary

I got a forum on my site now. Oh happy day. It took my 10 year old grandson to show me how to put it up. Good thing he comes by on the week end and shows me how to do stuff. lol

    • Close Graves' Disease

In early 2008 I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. I was put on a beta blocker and a ATD. I felt great! At my three month follow-up with the endo, I was told that I had to have RAI to ablate. I was told I could not stay on the ATDs because it would destroy my liver and I would eventually go into heart failure - B.S.!! Terrified, I agreed. RAI triggered TED! After learning how to read my labs...I discovered that the ATDs had worked and brought my levels to mid range. I did not need RAI!!

      Treatments

      Methimazole Working / Worked
      Worked very well.
      Radioactive Iodine Working / Worked
Biggest mistake I've ever made! I was never given any options by the Endo. Who would have thought I would have had to question a "specialist"?
    • Close Hypothyroidism

Regrettably had RAI for graves. I now have hypothyroidism. Being HYPO SUCKS!

      Treatments

      Synthroid Working / Worked
Challenging trying to find my optimum dose. Keeps me from going into a coma, I guess.
