My first Cosmo's blooming today!! Zinnia's blooming, azaleas taking root . So Happy the cuttings Chip gave me a very rare and unusual purple(my favorite color), thriving I can't wat to see the blooms. In a couple of years at least before they will produce flowers. But sometimes patience is its own reward. 2 wks. since weeding what a crop of weeds. I may have to use chemicals( I hate too, but just once this year).I went to a Auction last night with next to oldest brother Joe , after we left we stopped at a conveince store. He went in to get a soda I thought . Came out with Ice . I asked if he had soda in the car, as he proceeded to mix himself a drink with cranbeery juice and some kind of liquor. I commented that he never drank hard- liquor and what I remember the few times I ever saw him drunk , it was while drinking hard liquor. He said he never gets drunk. Then we started comparing or I noticed the scares above his thumb from a recent operation. And then we starting talking war- stories about the days and scars we carry around from our Iron - worker days and the buildings we've worked on and all the funny stories. Joe is a mess the back and shoulder and wrist operations along with diabetes a collapsed Diaphram and being 75 pounds overweight but Preident of Fayette Re- bar as himself and all the other guys now own. Thank god I moved an got sober juct as the cocaine epidemic took hold here in 1985.They bought the company and like most big companies of that time my Iron worker Buddy's started going to treatment centers becuse of substance abuse. And me reasonably fit at a very good weight , no diabetes god forbid. Just so grateful have gotten sober and eluded alot of scares doing Iron work sober. He called around 10;30 I was watching a little bit of young Frankesntine . And he sounded as sober as a church mouse. So hear we go weeds weeds and more weeds

-Off to do some more hedge work. Whipping the yard back in ship, cleaned the pool yesterday. Today the chainsaw and the birch trees. Got some real good ideas yesterday as I was trimming the English dogwoods. I feel soo very positive today. I like that....

Well everyting is planted. Ferns were very delicate and did not travel well. They will look very lovely next year though. Did no encounter any snakes, alot of frogs though. Frogs are considered a Buddhist"s role model as they can sit still for the longest time, waiting for a insect to come within their reach. These frogs did not sit still. Wet out, we had a nice shower, good for the plants. Placing rocks today tedious and time- consuming - all is well , gratitude is the theme today......

Ok, now I'm envious. I have been weeding my flower beds. Gardening is my therapy. The hot Texas sun has burned up my roses but my sage bushes (which bloom beautiful purple flowers) are thriving. I love how you live your life. It reflects, to me, all your years in service and a wonderful relationship with your HP. It's oldtimers like you that keep me comin' back because I want what you have! Pray for my roses,k?, LOL, Dianna
