    • About Me

I am 50 years old (but don't act it!), a legal administrative assistant for a very large lawfirm, single (not by choice), Mommy to 5 cats, have a strong belief system and am a very strong and resourceful person. I am about to be an official aunt to my niece who will be adopted in a few months and has been my world since the day she arrived in May of 2006. I love and crave different music and love to share what I find. Tori Amos is my absolute fav. artist but just ask about my other finds!

    • Close Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

OCD hit me at age 19. My triggers were being tired and being in my first relationship. Fear of rejection brought OCD on. I did have some small battles with it before age 19 with odd and even type rituals. I have never stopped trying to beat it but I guess the same insecurities remain, probably from life experiences, and so the OCD remains. I do think it can be beat. In fact, I did beat it the first go around when I grew fed up and didn't care about the consequences and it went away.

      Treatments

      Anafranil Working / Worked
I think this was the first med that I took in 1992 when hospitalized. It had too many side effects IIRC.
      Luvox Working / Worked
I guess it was working but I was taken off of it as I thought it was causing bladder problems. This was years ago.
      Paxil Working / Worked
It worked but I was changed to Luvox because of side effect . . .weight gain, I think. This was years ago.
      Zoloft Working / Worked
It worked but I asked for a med change because of weight gain. My doctor put me on Wellbutrin, which is not for OCD and now I am having symptoms.
