I wrote the below journal entry on January 19th:

"I want to apologize to my friends. I know that it seems like I flake out a lot. I just want everyone to know that I love ya'll, and I want to have the energy and clear-headedness to go out and socialize, but alot of the times I just don't. I feel like crap and just do not want to leave the house. I hope everyone reads this so they understand.

For those of you that have known me for awhile (years), you know that I have "always" been tired. Needing to sleep a lot, take naps, etc. I am relieved that I have finally found a way to sort-of fight it off. The change in my life that made the most difference is this: I QUIT HITTING MY SNOOZE BUTTON on my alarm clock when it goes off in the morning. I know it sounds like a small thing; and it is, I wish I had known years ago that this would make such a difference. I had talked to many doctors about my fatigue, and they always asked me the same questions: "Do you eat a balanced diet?", "Do you exercise?", etc. Since I didn't really exercise they would tell me to do that and it would get better. It was always the same thing. Until FINALLY I met a doctor that asked about my snooze button, and like magic, I started feeling better. I had to put my alarm clock across the room so I would actually have to get out of bed to turn it off, but it works! Also, within the last few months I have begun taking a multivitamin with something added for energy. That helps also. Sometimes I still struggle with feeling tired, but it has gotten so much better.

Another thing that makes me feel tired is getting too much sleep. For now, this only happens on the weekend. Generally because I go to bed later, and wake up on my own at the same time I would need to get up for work during the week. I'm still tired, so I fall back asleep, and end up sleeping much too long, and wake up feeling groggy and gross. A nurse I worked with once referred to that as having a "sleep hangover". Sleep hangovers suck, and they have ruined quite a few of my weekends, this one included. So: I need to figure out a solution to this but I haven't yet. So until I do, hopefully you will understand me a little better."

As I look back and read it now, I do not feel the same way. I am more tired now than I was then. Please comment! Especially if you have similar symptoms/experiences. Thanks!
