    • Close Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML)
      Stage: M4

      My mom was diagnosed with AML M-04 on 3/5/09. She had flu-like symptoms a month or so prior and was admitted to the hospital with a WBC of 208,000! I am supporting her through her treatment and we just found out that induction therapy was successful, no leukemic cells in her marrow after her biopsy! I know there is a long road ahead and I was looking for support from others who have dealt with or supported someone through this disease.

      Treatments

      Cytarabine Working / Worked
      My mom started Ara-C for a seven day induction. It was successful. Had to stop after day two due to suffering from a stroke, but was able to finish the treatment successfully.
