Yeah, panic attacks can feel really scary... I used to get them a lot. I'm not on any meds for bipolar, depression, or panic attacks anymore. I used to be on a lot though. I think I do better without them. It's great that your mom is so positive about being in her present condition. This year, I've already had 6 brain surgeries in only 3 months, so I'm not too terribly positive anymore even though I should be. I had 4 brain surgeries in January which consisted of 2 external ventricular drain procedures (what your mom has now) The surgeons did the first one, took it out, sent me home, and then I had to go back because they saw an infection. I had to be externalized again. Then, in February, I started having problems with chest pain from the shunts draining into my pleural space. OUCH! Then, in March, I had another infection and had to have the EVD procedure again! I had the first surgery in March plus a chest tube, and the second one in April and the chest tube was taken out. Now, we're not so sure how long my shunts will last in my stomach lining because there's so much scar tissue. Your mom seems like such a strong woman and that's AMAZING that she was even able to have you! I hope you and your mom and family have a happy easter today! It's not all about bunnies that lay candy filled eggs (I never understood the anatomy behind that in the first place! LOL!)

Here's what we in Hawaii call an "Alohug" back to you! I thought about you a lot last evening and hope you are better today. Please consider getting some guidance through these tough times, either from a school counselor, your priest or pastor or a trusted older relative. It is very important to keep talking about how you are feeling and what you are going through. My thoughts are with you. Susie
