Saw the neuro on Mon. and he wants me to take the Artane everyday now to see if it will prevent a flare up. Seems to me like we tried that in the spring and it didn't work then. Oh well, I'll try again and see what happens.I've taken it for three nights now and this morning my toes were "purring" again. He doesn't really want to hear about any of my other symptoms and is just focusing on the spasms, it's all so frustrating. He seems to be sure that if we can prevent the spasms the other stuff will clear up too even though he admits that alot of my other symptoms are not common to dystonia. I just feel like he's missing something. I will be faithful to take my pill and keep a log of symptoms for the next four months till my next appointment and maybe he'll turn out to be right. I always said it would be nice to just take a pill and make it all go away.
He certainly was not the least bit interested in my dietary changes that I really think are helping because when I do have a flare up lately it doesn't last as long and is not as intense. Well I'm happy with how it is working so I won't let his opinion deter me. I have lost 54 pounds since March and feel terrific.
