My brother was just diagnosed with alcoholic cirrhosis and it came as a big surprise because he had been very sick but lying to everyone and finally went to the doctors for help to quit drinking because he thought that was the problem, well in a way it was. He has had every problem associated with cirrhosis and needs a transplant but has to wait 6 months before he could be considered due to being an active alcoholic. I find now that I need support and to talk with those in the same position.
My son now 17 was born with a birth defect after all of that he then was diagnosed ADHD, but I knew when he was 2 what it was, but I waited until he was 5 to have him put on meds for school only. I have struggled and struggled with him, but now even though he is ADHD he is well adjusted and he tries to understand his problems and accepts them and tries to over come them without medication, but if he thinks he needs help he asks.
I am almost 39 and have smoked since I was around 12, you know someone said here try this and I did and haven't stopped yet, but on April 1, 2009 I plan on quitting for good, to try and save my health. I currently have no health problems that I know of from smoking and would like to keep it that way.
