GOOD MORNING HUGS TO YOU AS WELL!! THINGS ARE OK I GUESS YOU CAN SAY...SHE WAS UP AT 4:45 THIS MORNING, WE HAVE SPEECH THERAPHY THIS MORNING AT 8:30, SHE'S HAD A FEW HEAD BANGING MOMENTS ALREADY, BUT NOT NEARLY AS BAD, THANK GOD!! Up Around youngstown area well hopefully things are going to start going your families way to a point soon I am sure you all would love for that but we go throught that too ups and downs but we all get through it eventually any thing you guys every need to talk out I am always here hope you have a fun weekend

HUggs and thank you, yes its called a nasty side of life. I have basically written letters to my family and told them I will not enable my sister or them anymore for her bad behavior. My youngest sister is the best :))

We have three kids -- a 12-year-old girl and 8-year-old twins (a boy and girl). Our son is on the spectrum -- very high-functioning, super-smart (reading since age 2), funny and sweet about 90% of the time . . . but oh that remaining 10%!
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- Didn't "cure" his autism, but the GF/CF diet certainly helped relieve him of a lot of gastric problems, of which he is now totally free. We no longer use the diet.
- Brushing Therapy Not Working
- He never liked this.
- Early Intervention Working / Worked
- Helped us face the boy's problems, if nothing else, and showed us that there are things that CAN be done for kids on the spectrum.
- Floor-Time Therapy Working / Worked
- Along with play therapy, this was one of the first things we tried . . . we used this successfully until we discovered RDI.
- Occupational Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- Moderately helpful.
- Pets Not Working
- He ignores the cat almost completely.
- Picture / Word Schedules Somewhat Helpful
- Used at school, with some success, his teachers report.
- Play Therapy Working / Worked
- Helped get his motor running at about age 3.
- RDI Working / Worked
- In my opinion the best therapy we've tried. Used it for two years until economics and "therapy fatigue" forced us to stop.
