my job is harassing me and trying to balance it all......
Has anyone struggled to balance their career, family and home with their flares? it seems like I am failing everyone. I feel healthier when I focus on …
I am 39 years old. Mother of two teenage boys, and a teenage girl. I have been married 19 years to my husband, have 4 dogs and am self employed. I like to exercise, go to bible study and spend time in my yard, by the ocean in our trailer and walking our dogs. My children are amazing, great friends and I love attending their sports activities.

Hi Kim, it’s nice to hear back from you too. I would if I could send you a hug too, but I decided to choose I'm With You because our situations do sound similar. And the name is Zeyda…Pearl is my stage name :). Have you asked your employer about taking Family Leave? You are entitled to it because you are being treated right now? Chronic Fatigue is one of those things that they use when they can’t really determine what’s causing all of your symptoms, but this way they can try to treat it. I also have severe dry eyes and all over body/joint pain. Did your doctor say that you have RA? My blood tests don’t say that I have RA, but the doctor has to make that determination based on all of the other symptoms. He explained that the day that they take your blood, your numbers may not be the same, so it’s a hit and miss thing. If you wait for the numbers to show, then you would postpone treatment. I’ll look for the results, and get the name to you. I’ve changed to several different primaries and this last one noticed that I had a bulge/lump on my throat. The sonogram came back that the thyroid is enlarged, and I have a couple of nodules, but because my hormone levels are okay, then it’s not hypothyroidism, just Hashimoto’s which is the immune system attacking my thyroid, plus I also have Scleritis which is another immune system problem. I would have them do a sonogram of your thyroids, all of the lab work that you can get done, and if anything shows up with the thyroids, ask to see an endocrinologist. My doctor said that it wasn’t necessary, but thank God that my insurance now doesn’t need a referral (but I would have pushed any way) and I asked her to check my adrenal glands too. All of that can cause the terrible fatigue that you are having….so check it out!! I work for our local emergency management office, and I’m the only administrative person, so I’m not sure how I’m going to be able to handle the added stress, but I made an appointment with my doctor, and I’ll leave it up to him. I’ve had to consider giving up part of my salary, but when you really think about it; if you don’t have good health, then you won’t be able to work. Can you do something different? The main thing right now is to get a diagnosis, and then you can make decisions a lot easier. It’s taken me 12 years to get a diagnosis, but I won’t think back and wonder why…but now I know, and I’m on track with the treatment. So if your doctor is pushing you to take a leave, you may want to listen to him. If you do have a diagnosis of RA, then you would be protected by ADA, and all employers have to abide by that. I asked to come in early so that I could leave early, and my boss put me back to the regular time of 8-5 and I am soooooooooo tired when I get home that I can’t cook dinner and just go straight to the shower and then bed. That’s why my status always says in my PJ’s…by the time that I sit at my computer, I am. Where do you have pain? Are you achy or stiff? You may also want to check the other support group here under Hypothyroidism….great information there too. Like the link to www.stopthethyroidmadness.com. Sorry for going on…hope that you’re getting rest, and don’t let your job take you down…you need to take care of yourself so that you can take those nice dogs on their daily walk down the beach…you lucky lady :).
I had been sick for about 21/2 yrs and just thought I was getting older and having hormonal changes. I felt pain, heat and low drive for my home and job. I had bladder infections, anxiety, couldnt sleep at night due to pain and heat in my limbs. I was very tired and weak all the time. I april 2004 I was referred to a Rheumatoligist after over 1 year of going to many different doctors and being screen to MS. I got diagnosed with RA.
I am fairly new with a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue. I have struggled for a few years with exhaustion, concentration problems, repeated spells on Mono and it began to affect my work and family on 2003. I didn't believe on CFS and have recently began to accept thatr I do have something. I am here to learn and get support.
I have neuro problems and 3 lesions of frontal lobe of brain. No positive test yet but want to learn more so I can get an idea of what other peoples symptoms are. I am starting to have alot of trouble breathing.
