MY WISH FINALLY CAME TRUE. IT HAS BEEN RAINING SINCE EARLY MORNING AND THE WINDS HAVE REALLY BEEN BLOWING HARD. SO FAR SO GOOD ON THE ELECTRICITY FRONT, NO OUTAGES HERE BUT OTHER AREAS HAVE HAD DOWNED TREES AND LIMBS GOING INTO LINES. THIS MORNING A TREE FELL ON A SCHOOL BUS IN A TOWN A WAYS TO THE SOUTH OF ME, HOW SCARY. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT, THERE WERE JUST 3 KIDS ON THE BUS AT THE TIME ALONG WITH THE DRIVER. IT IS NOT ESPECIALLY COLD BUT I CLEANED MY FURNACE YESTERDAY AND LET IT RUN FOR A WHILE TO LET THE DUST I COULD NOT GET TO BURN OFF. DID NOT SMELL SO GREAT BUT ONE LESS CHORE TO DO LATER WHEN I MIGHT REALLY WANT THE HEAT ON. MY GRANDDAUGHTER WAS FUNNY THIS MORNING, TOLD HER IT WAS RAINING AND SHE NEEDED TO GET UP AND GET READY FOR SCHOOL AS IT WAS GETTING LATE. SHE HOPS OUT OF BED, LOOKS OUT THE WINDOW AND PROMPTLY JUMPS BACK INTO BED AND DECLARES IT A 'RAIN-DAY' SO NO SCHOOL. NOPE, NO WAY I TOLD HER. SO SHE GOT UP AND TOLD ME I WAS LUCKY BECAUSE I GOT TO STAY HOME INSIDE ALL DAY. I HAD PLANNED ON GOING TO THE GROCERY STORE BUT DAWDLED AROUND AND BY THE TIME I FINALLY SHOWERED AND DRESSED THE WINDS WERE REALLY GOING SO I DECIDED I COULD PUT IT OF UNTIL TOMORROW WHEN THE STORM IS SUPPOSED TO BE PRETTY MUCH WEAKENED. STILL HAVE RAIN ON TAP FOR THEN BUT THE WINDS NOT SO MUCH. I DO NOT MIND GOING OUT IN THE RAIN BUT DO NOT LIKE THE WINDS. ANYWAY, ONE LESS CAR ON THE ROADS IS BETTER. I CAN HEAR CARS TRYING TO GET UP THE HILL AND HEAR THEIR TIRES SQUEALING. MUST BE PRETTY SLIPPERY OUT THERE, DIDN'T THINK IT WAS THAT BAD THIS MORNING WHEN I TOOK SAVANNAH TO SCHOOL. NOT MUCH ELSE IS HAPPENING HERE. I HAVE NOT BEEN RECEIVING DS DAILY POSTS, ANYONE ELSE NOT GETTING THEM? I MISS THEM. TOOK ME A COUPLE DAYS TO REALIZE THEY WEREN'T THERE AND NOTHING TODAY AT ALL EITHER. TAKES ME LONGER TO CHECK AROUND TO SEE HOW EVERYONE IS DOING OR NOT DOING AS THE CASE MAY BE. HMMMMMM I THINK MY KEYBOARD NEEDS CLEANING OR SOMETHING AS I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY CAP LOCKS AND COUPLE OF OTHER THINGS. GUESS I NEED TO GET THE SWABS, ALCOHOL AND A CAN OF PRESSURED AIR. WELL THAT IS ABOUT IT, SORRY IT IS SO BORING BUT THAT IS HOW MY LIFE IS. BEING DEPRESSED USUALLY MEANS BOREDOM AT LEAST FOR ME. I NEED TO GO TRY AND GET THE DOGS OUTSIDE FOR A BIT. THEY HAVE BEEN DOING MID AIR U TURNS EACH TIME I OPEN THE DOOR...THEY RUN LIKE THEY NEED TO GO OUT, TAKE ONE LOOK AND BACK IN THEY COME. STRATING TO SMELL PRETTY DOGGY IN HERE. TAKE CARE ALL

I was thinking about you and wondering how the storm was effecting you. Like you, I don't like the high winds either....I just look at all these tall trees and hope they don't come down on my head!
I think Savannah had the right idea yesterday....now our forefathers, way back in the cave man days, would have probably said the same thing. Who wants to go out and get wet and soggy when one can stay in dry and warm? LOL
It's still raining here this morning....not as hard, but steady. I think everyone is glad to see it. Don't know why but I think we're going to have a cold winter this year and more snow that usual....anyway, that's what my bones are telling me, but time will tell.
Take care Ms. Lorelei
Oh.....there's a post on the COPD group saying the same thing about emails...seems it's a common problem and people are suggesting telling DS, for some have had some luck with that.

I actually got a DS daily today. Maybe someone was snooping around to see if anyone missed them LOL I have an appt for Savannah tomorrow for her H1N1 nasal spray vaccine then of course the school callls me to say she is ill. I go get her, bring her home and retake her temp which was 99.4 and now she is fine. I think she was having some sort of sinus or allergy thing and I felt kind of blah earlier, nose is still burning now. I don't think she was sick at all, the rooms are warm and she still had on her fleece parka and I think that is what made her a bit too warm. Oh well, like I had nothing else to do today besides dishes, vaccuming, going to the pharmacy and grocery store. I hope we have a cold wet winter, maybe not too cold so you get snowed in but not a warm warm winter with too much rains. our levees and the burn areas could not handle such stress. But we certainly need rain. There are leaves scattered from one end of the street to the next and I think half of them are ours from the fruitless Mulberry. Am waiting for Anjy to get here to get Savannah so i can go shopping so I better get this thing shut down. Talk to you later

Hi, we don't have the H1N1 vaccine here yet. My sisters step-grandbaby has the swine flu and they are medicating his brother too because he has a bad cough. They went to cousins birthday party and no one there apparently thought it was important enough to let them know they were all sick and just went ahead with the party. Dumb dumbs. My grandchildren have their flu vaccine for regular flu but waiting for the other to get here. My daughter never gets her kids the flu shot. We don't ever get it either. Have only had flu twice ever in my life and husband never. If mine even was the true flu, maybe just a virus. Glad you are getting the rain you needed. We got some the last couple of days too. Supposed to get back into the 60s this week. It's only been in the 40s. I sit with my house coat over my clothes and a blanket over me. Days like this I feel like Savannah. Stay in bed and get cozy. Sounds good to me. Talk again soon. Stay warm.
