Helps to avoid fatty, fried, spicy foods. Over carbonated beverages, Caffeine, peppermint/mint, citus

Baking Soda Not Working

Tried it once or twice and it gave temp. relief but it also upped my bp and caused edema

Carafate Somewhat Helpful

Helped when I had an ulcer and hemmoraged yrs ago. Helped heal the gastritis I think, though it didn't help the esoiphagitis from the GERD.

Dietary Modification Working / Worked

Eat freq. smaller meals, avoiding too much food and drink at a time. Try to eat slowly and chew thoroughly. BRAT diet during worst times.

Ginger Working / Worked

helped with nausea and spasms in GI track, sometimes though the spice seemed to aggravate tme stomach acids. (Possible bile reflux also)

Nexium Working / Worked

TRied it and found it helpful, insurance company refused to pay for it and insisted on generic prilosec (omeprazole) instead.

Pepcid Not Working

Rash from this. Headaches when given by IV. No relief from pain. Bloating was worse also.

Pepto-Bismol Somewhat Helpful

Caused constipation but helped sometimes, not always. Helped when I had some GI infections.

Prevacid Working / Worked

Can't remember why I stopped it. Think it was because it didnt help much.

Prilosec Somewhat Helpful

Have tons of pain while on it now. But when I have reflux the stuff does not seem to burn. Have vit D, and B12 deficiencies on it. Lot of pain from either GERD or hernia in the epigastric area, which this drug is not helping at all.

Protonix Somewhat Helpful

It helped sometimes. Especially when it was given by IV at the ER. But didn't work later by mouth as well. Urgent care dr just gave me some more... I am scared to take it as I feel bad enough already and don't want to get worse.

Raising Bed Position Not Working

Used to help, no longer does. I have been sleeping in a recliner for a long time now. Even slightly tilting back hurts.

Reglan Working / Worked

Had some crazy side effects I think the first time I took it. Tried another trial and it helped though it had a lot of unpleasant side effects.

Prilosec Somewhat Helpful

Not sure how effective it is now. It was working but not working so great lately it seems. I take 2x a day 20mg. Stopping it always causes worse pain and reflux. It effects my BP I wish it was sodium free like the brand name prilosec has magnesium instead I think. Prilosec is too expensive and insurance wont pay for it.

Helped after car accident, though may have aggravated my herni which was undxd. Helped with double vision and headaches after a whiplash injury. Didn't help abdominal pain.

It is working to lift my mood elevate my pain threshold and even is helping my skin problems. Also helps me sleep. I only wish I had been given this drug sooner. I am using less pain meds narcotics while on this medication.

Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful

Helps but is only temporary. Sometimes it only takes the edge off. I wish it lasted longer and worked better though.

This stuff worked well, though again it only masks the pain for awhile.

It worked for a few days than I got gastritis from it in my stomach.

Oxycodone Somewhat Helpful

Works much better than hydrocodone but my GP seems more reluctant to give it. Says the surgeon can prescribe it easier. My surgeon gave it to me and it brought better and longer relief.

Physical Therapy Working / Worked

Helped somewhat after my car accident. But the chiropractor helped my headache more. Had an undxd hernia which may have made the PT less effective.

TENS Somewhat Helpful

This helped after my car accident. I would be tempted to try it for the muscular pain I have due to 2 nasty hernias. ! repaired 12 wks ago. But not sure if it is safe for that condition.

Topamax Not Working

Tried it but side effects were more disabling for me than the pain.
