Open Bereavement
I'm new to this support group, but I've jumped whole-hearted into it... in a 3 month period I've lost my grandmother, one of my best friends, and my fiance's brother.
Treatments
- Crying Somewhat Helpful
- when I cry about losing any of them, it gets me into these long crying periods where I cry about anything and everything.
- Getting Angry Somewhat Helpful
- when I really can't handle it anymore, I start getting really angry; yelling and swearing at everything.
- Helping Others Somewhat Helpful
- I help others but sometimes it really makes me feel sad, thinking about what I don't have.
- Keeping Busy Somewhat Helpful
- I can't get focused on any one thing anymore... I have totally lost all focus of everything, so I have to keep busy doing whatever I can whenever I remember it.
- Music Working / Worked
- when I get in my really depressed moods, I try listening to my "angry mood" music; I just crank up the music & plug in my headphones. After about 20 min or so, I've calmed down & relaxed & I'm in a much better mood.
- Pets Somewhat Helpful
- my dog seems to know when I'm really sad; she curls up with me, right up close & stays with me until I get up from the couch or bed.
- Poetry Somewhat Helpful
- I start writing a lot, but haven't finished a single one since this all started happening.
- Support from Friends & Family Somewhat Helpful
- my fiance is there for me to talk when I need to; but he just seems so indifferent about his brother's death. He's also there for me to talk when I need to talk about my friend's death or my grandma; a shoulder to cry on when I need it.
- Talking Somewhat Helpful
- I talk with people I know about the things that have occured; they all seem sympathedic & helpful.
