I am still trying to control my chronic pelvic pain and getting answers. I am seeing several Dr's this week to try to help with my pain. I am getting passed off from one Dr to the next cause they cant figure out why?

Interests
I love to work in my garden and plant flowers. Playing games with my kids and listening to country music. The best thing of all is spending time with family and having cook outs. I wont have my parents with me forever and I love to cherish all the time I can get. I love to go fishing and camping!! Rocky Mountain National Forest is the best!!!

Hi Staci. I just read your discussion thread in the Chronic Pain support group and I thought you could use a hug, plus I wanted to let you know that I went through something fairly similar to what you are going through now, and I was 35 when I had my total hysterectomy. If you ever want to discuss this in more detail, please let me know. I am new to this site and to the CP group, but I have been around the block a few times and if I can do anything at all to help, please feel free to ask. Take care and best of luck with the job!

Close Hysterectomy
I had a TAH/BSO on 2/27/09.. I had periods every 2 weeks for 2yrs. till I started having severe pain all the time! I had adenomyosis and endometriosis.
Treatments
- Estrogen Patch Working / Worked
- Its .05 patch that I am taking. I just started on Tuesday. I was told to give it a couple weeks to take full effect and side effects that might come as well. I havent had any yet. My night sweats are slowing down Im not up as much at night. Im having some mild hot flashes. Im not as cold as I was before taking Climara. hopefully this will work better for me.
Close Smoking Addiction & Recovery
I just quit smoking today! I felt like everything was going wrong with my health and I could control this part!! I'm doing good with the help of patches.
Treatments
- Chantix Not Working
- I had very bad side effects. I couldn't remember what I did one day and it scared my family and I. I cooked a full dinner, had family over and I dont remember anything!!
- Nicotine Patch Working / Worked
- I just started it last night. so far its helping with bad cravings.
Open Endometriosis
I had my cycles every 2 wks for 2 yrs. I went to see my doctor about it in the beginning and he told me pre menopause and put me on BC for 3 mo. It didnt work. The pain got so bad I had to see a gyn. I went through so many. They didnt believe me. I finally found a gyn 2 hours away and had a lap. I wound up getting a total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral sling oophorectomy. My biopsy came back adenomyosis and endometriosis inside my right ovary. Still having pain after all this.
Treatments
Open Menopause
I had a TAH/BSO on 2/27/09 Due to Adenomyosis and Endometriosis in my right ovary and cysts on my left ovary. It has forced me into menopause which has been hard to deal with.
Treatments
- Premarin Too Soon to Tell
- I'm not sure yet I just started taking it.
- Estrogen Patch Somewhat Helpful
- I was on .05mg patch and it did help a little. I still had night sweats and hot flashes but I was on the lowest dose and I couldnt use it any longer cause I was allergic to the adhesives which I had a feeling It wouldnt work but I wanted to try it anyways. I didnt have any side effects and it did stop my cold sweats.
Open Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
I'm not sure what is going on with me. Been having pain lower right side for some time now. I cant touch that area. I cant wear jeans or sleep well at night.
Open Coronary Heart Disease
I was told in findings from my CT scan that I have minimal atherosclerotic disease in the abdominal aorta.
Open Marfan Syndrome
I was told my 14 yr old son has Marfan Syndrome. He is in the process of more testing this next week.
Open Chronic Pain
I have been fighting chronic pelvic pain since Oct 08. after my hysterectomy and 2 laparoscopy's the pain hasent gone away. It's horrible and I can not work.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Too Soon to Tell
- I just started taking them but its also to help with the depression.
- Flexeril Too Soon to Tell
- I am starting to take. not sure if this will help.
- Heat Not Working
- I have tried and it doesnt help at all.
- Hydrocodone Not Working
- did not help.
- Lyrica Somewhat Helpful
- This made me feel really drunk. Stumbling when I walked. I took it for 3 days. It also gave me severe headaches. it took the edge off but I couldnt function.
- Morphine Somewhat Helpful
- Only the shots help take the edge off. The pills do not help at all. They give me really bad headaches of course.
- Naproxen Not Working
- does not help
- Oxycodone Not Working
- does not work
