About Me
I was diagnosed with MS in April 2003 but I had been going to many different doctors for 3 years before being diagnosed. My symptons were so sporadic and brief that no one could figure out what was going on. I took Avonex for 2003 to February 2008 and the shot once a week work pretty well for me. I am now on Tysabri. The IV once a month is very convenient for me being that I am very active. initially, my symptons were all all over my body but now most of my problems have been on the right side of my body (right leg and foot). I also have problems sometimes with fatigue, balance, cordination and bladder.

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Relapsing-remitting MSI was diagnosed with MS in April 2003. I went to many different doctors 4 years before before being diagnose trying to figure out what was going on. A lot of my problems seem like they were being generated from my back. I had sharp pains in my lower back and legs that would come and go. Also had temporary tingling and numbness that would sporadically come and go.
Treatments
- Avonex Working / Worked
- Avonex worked pretty well for me. However, I would still have flar-ups and fatigue was a constant issue. I only had side effects when I first started taking the Avonex and it included chills and emotional swings. But, tylenol took care of the side effects.
- Baclofen Working / Worked
- It seems to work for the most part when I first started taking it but I don't know if it is working anymore.
- Prednisone Not Working
- predisone didn't do anything for me.
- Provigil Working / Worked
- This has worked great for my fatigue. I take 100MG
- Solumedrol Working / Worked
- That solved a lot of my problems the first time around when I was experiencing a real bad flare up.
- Tysabri Somewhat Helpful
- I have been taking Tysabri treatments for about 1 year & 4 months now. I haven't noticed any improvements in my symptons. In fact, it seems like my symptons got worse. I went from running to not being able to run and sometimes it was a struggle to walk. I was experiencing more muscle spasms/tightness & right toe drag than I have ever experienced. I tried several different things such as solumedfrol, Baclofen and Tizanidine but none of this work. Botox treatment in March have improved my sympton
- Zanaflex Not Working
- did not work for me at the time I was taking it.
