About Me
I am a Christian. I am married. I have a fourteen year old son who is very musically talented. I had thyroid cancer at 17. I am on Synthroid for life. I was diagnosed with a DVT in my leg in January of 2009. I am on Coumadin and wear compression pantyhose every waking hour. I am trying to lose weight, stop eating and drinking so much sugar, and to walk and stretch every day. I was also diagnosed with Hypoglycemia in December of 2008.

Interests
I love making quilt tops and quilting. I have made 3 for my son so far. I am working on two others for him now. One is a fisher boy with scraps cut from my maternal grandparents clothes. i can't wait to see it finished. I finished his 3 dimensional blue baby block quilt on Christmas eve last year. i put it on his bed while he was asleep. I had started it as a teenager and just finished it last year.

I have been trying to drink other things than Dr. Pepper. I drink the sparkling flavored waters at Walmart. They are pretty good & have a lot fewer calories. I also drink a lot of water anyway. I want to go from 1-2 DP's a day to ZERO! I wish you luck on your journey to be DP free!

Close Thyroid Cancer
Type: Papillary CarcinomaI was 17 and had 85% of my thyroid removed.

Open Hypothyroidism
I had thyroid cancer at the age of 17 (am now 40). I had an 85% thyroidectomy. I am hypothryroid since then. I am currently trying to lose some weight due to a DVT in my leg.
Treatments

- I have been on Synthroid the whole time. My dosage has been adjusted many times over the years. I am on 200 mcg right now.
Open Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
I went to a gastro doctor for ulcer and colon symptoms and he said that it sounded to him like I have hypoglycemia. Since cutting a lot of sugar from my diet I feel so much better.
