Wondering
I am wondering if I should see a second EP. Mine seems informative enough, but he is not willing to consider ablation unless I have tried all …
I am a wife, mother of two adult children, practice manager who got an MBA in 2004. I live in upstate NY and enjoy hiking, golf, and taking walks with our dog. We also like to travel when we can. We will probably retire in 5 or 6 years. I have two adult children who are both unmarried, no grandkids yet.

Seek a second opinion! Preferably at a teaching hospital in your area. Ask about anti arrythmial meds and what your options are. Many people have done well with ablation, mine was six weeks ago and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be successful. It takes two to six months for your heart to heal from the procedure so it can be considered a success or failure. Good luck to you.
I have had palpitations all my life, but never had them checked out until 7 years ago - the was diagnosed with afib. I have paroxysmal afib. I believe this is hereditary in my family - my sister, mother, aunt, and cousin have all had it. My cousin recently had an ablation, which is the first I was hearing of this (after 6 years with a cardiologist!)
