Sorry you haven't been feeling so good. This acro can really get you down. My hip has been hurting pretty bad today and my stomach is acting up from the Sandostatin. I try to just ignore it and keep plugging along. It's good to hear from you again. Don't stay away so long next time. I go for another MRI on June 8. I so hope that my tumor is not coming back. Be thinking of me on that one! Janey

Too true about the housework. I DID get the taxes almost done and almost a month early, but the house is a disaster and I have guests coming next weekend so I've got my work cut out for me the rest of today and throughout this coming week. Close Acromegaly
I was diagnosed 14 years ago with acromegaly & have probably had it now for 20 years. Had head surgery, radiotheraphy, been on Octeotide - Sandostatin (bad side effects) now currently on Lanreotide. Love to hear from other acros.
Treatments
- Octreotide Somewhat Helpful
- Self injection daily & then nurse(monthly.)Terrible side effects.Hair loss,large hard balls formed in injection site,were painful & lasted 6 months. Excruciating pain(under right rib) pain would not allow me to move,scream,breathe, at hospital(scans) never found why. Some said might have passed gallstones (which medication causes.) Only felt good 1 week out of month. Then worse- a nurse (severed part of my sciatic nerve, during injection)- damaging it for ever. Changed meds.
