Close Chronic Pain

Almost 13 years ago,then 28 yrs old,I contracted multiple tick borne diseases,took a while to be diagnosed. It triggered off numerous other problems,ie; muscular,skeletal,bone,neurological,osteoporosis,osteoarthritis, TMJ, facial pain,at one point cardiac from increased CPK? enzymes,costochondritis sternum/ear,connective tissue dxs,autoimmune,IBS,Non-specific colitis..upper GI and lower bowel problems, RLS like symptoms,exhaustion, extreme fatigue, in short, chronic pain, a living nightmare.

Acupressure Not Working

accupuncture-painful, only once was enough for me.

Chiropractic Adjustment Somewhat Helpful

it felt a bit better when he used the ultrasound, especially on my sternum for the costochondritis. it took time, had to be dedicated in going to the office for treatment, which I was. as far as my back, well, that i just have to live with. the meds help a bit with that. i'm able to walk, at least.

Cymbalta Not Working

did not help me.

Heat Somewhat Helpful

sometimes makes me feel a bit better, depending on what is hurting at that time.

Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful

i used to take norco, it helped a bit, so i tried to tolerate the dizziness, it got so bad, i had to ask the md to please change my meds.

Lidoderm Not Working

did nothing for me.

Methadone Somewhat Helpful

this did help somewhat, but the side affects made me miserable. i had to get off of it. hives,itching,terrible skin,dizzy,confusion,nausea,miserable.i looked horrible.i felt horrible.

Morphine Somewhat Helpful

i tried avinza a while back and i find the morphine sulfate/oral works better for me. it helps in conjunction w/my other meds. wish i could say it takes away the pain completely, but it doesnt. it gets me out of bed and to the stores. though i still hold onto my best friend the shopping wagon. bad things about it is if you dont sleep when you are tired, you can forget about sleep. itchiness, chatterbox, does not have many bad side affects like the many other meds i've tried.

Naproxen Somewhat Helpful

the only thing this really helps with is taking the edge of my headaches. A far as the other pain, absolutely not helpful.. the stomach pain from these....its just not worth it. even with stomach meds, the pain is not tolerable.

Nerve Blocks Not Working

i've had 6 spinal(at one time) approx 4 months ago. another 3 or 4 (at one time)approx month and half ago. the pain from injections lasted about a week, the chronic pain felt a bit better only for about the same amount of time. was it worth it? absolutely not for me.i had a round trip of ten hours to and from hospital, was bent over the whole way home in pain,had to stop half way to go to the bathroom and urnated large amount of blood,MD states it was a coincidence?never heard of this before.

Neurontin Working / Worked

this is a wonderful medication. unfortunately the dizziness can be unbarable.it works well in conjunction with my other meds, not by itslef. i am now off of it because of the terrible dizziness and sick feeling i got in my stomach. i felt like i was being poisoned.what a choice to make? feel better as far as pain but you cant lift your head up off the pillow, or turn your head from side to side.tried lowering the dosage and it just didnt work well.higher dose helped but made me feel very sick.

Oxycodone Too Soon to Tell

percocet-bad side affects, got off it real fast.terrible dizziness. horrible.

Physical Therapy Working / Worked

the PT used 2 dip my hands and elbows in parafin.it was wonderful.said it was the first time 4 elbows.a friend of mine used 2 parafin my left ear.it too started 2 help,but the PT said he was not allowed 2 do this.if i could have afforded to purchase machine and do it daily...this really helped me.but no one that i know does this up here in no where land,since i moved ten hour trip away.i miss the treatments.i miss that PT. a good man, really tried to help me. along with other pt treatments.

TENS Somewhat Helpful

i still use this now and then. it doesnt really take away the pain, it just relaxes me. i do this in conjunction with ice and heat, alternating.

Topamax Somewhat Helpful

i was thinking crazy thoughts.i lost weight though,good 4 me,but then gained it back. extremely short of breath,heart racing,terrible tingling,like bugs all over,neuropathy worsened with high dosages,couldnt walk up the steps without huffing and puffing.must start on a very low dosage,pharmacology paperwork stated, and work their way up very slowly. an MD started me on high dosage and i felt like i was poisoned,like i was going to die. suicidal thoughts,speak with md. monitor symtoms carefully.

Antivert Working / Worked

this is a wonderful medication. though with all of the other meds i was and am still on i was concerned about mixing too many meds together. but for dizziness this was the one for me. worked wonderful. it was a choice i made less pain or less dizziness. then to top things off most of the meds i was on caused dizziness to worsen by far. ugh....what a nightmare. i didnt get any side affects.

Fiorinol Working / Worked

worked well for me for headaches. but again all the other meds i was taking was afraid to mix everything. only thing if you are starting this medication make sure you only take what you really need what is directed by your MD and not more this caused me to get worse headaches when i took more than once or twice daily. maybe it was just me but this is what happened. maybe the caffein in it?

Bentyl Working / Worked

worked great for the severe IBS symptomscrampsetc. i literally had to change my nightgowns at least once or twice from terrible sweats from low abdominal pain.this medication was a God sent. worked in just a few minutes.
