Close Back Pain
Hi. My name is Mike. I am 54 years old, married with children. I have had cronic back pain for over 20 years. Much of my pain is due to a car accident that healed left a large number of bone spures that grow on my spine, neck, left colar bone and left sholder. I have done it all as far as looking for relive including surgery to remove the reacurring bone spurs on my spine to using every pain reliver pill,patch,others to get rid of the pain but the spurs regrow and pinch the nerves in my spine
Treatments
- Bedrest Not Working
- Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
- Caused more problems then fix.
- Darvon Not Working
- Made me sick to my stomach
- Fentanyl Somewhat Helpful
- The drug work well but I had a problem keepingf the patch on. I sem to have extra sweat that causes the patch to not stick for more then a day. I CAN NOT GET a doctor to perscribe the "ACTIQ" that is Fentanyl taken by mouth but works very well with out the side effects of Morphine.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- Is now my main med. It has such a short half life thou so I use it when I know its inportant to be as pain free as I can and go with out relive the rest of the time so I can take a effective dose ( 2 10mg tabs every 3 hours) and go with out any the rest the time.
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- The first few years I had this problem I took a number of NSAIDS and they work in stoping most of the pain but I develope several bleeding stomach ulcers that prohibit me from taking this type of medicine due to bleeding in my stomach.
- Morphine Working / Worked
- Work well with the time release version but caused constiptation so bad I had to stop taking it.
- Naproxen Working / Worked

- Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- Help only for a few hours at a time.
- TENS Working / Worked
- Helps some
- Prayer Working / Worked
- I have all ways been a christian but by chance I found that durring periods of prayer reduce the pain so well some times it goes completely away. I found if I stay focus on the needs of my loved ones durring prayer that some times hours go by in prayer and I find my own pain is often gone.
Open High Blood Pressure
High BP some were between 160 / 100 tp 150 / 95 but My main problem seems to be a meantel defecincie caused by cronic HBP. causing a type of mild demintia but in my mind my ability to talk and comperhend on the fly is all but gone.

- Prozac Somewhat Helpful
- Taking for 20+ years. Works better then anything else but still need a better way. Sexual side effect.
- Wellbutrin Not Working
