Close Narcolepsy
In August of 2008 I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy and prescribed Provigil, after which I lost my job and benefits and now have to struggle with the disorder without the aid of medication. I have vivid hallucinations at night which lead me to be very fearful, I suffer from sleep deprivation, and I might have a mild version of cataplexy.
Treatments
- Provigil Working / Worked
- Provigil has helped me to stay awake during the daytime hours when I am at work, but I do feel exhausted afterwards if I don't keep myself active. I found it hard to stay awake after work when I was finally free to enjoy my personal time. Provigil finally allowed me to drive my car without being afraid of dozing off and causing an accident. The only problem is that I lost my job and my benefits, so now I'm not sure how I can afford $12 a day for the medication that I've come to depend on.
