About Me
I am 39 and my husband is 40. We have been trying to get pregnant for three years now. It's been a long road. We have completed two unsuccessful IVF cycles. Our recent FET cycle was a success. We are nervous and scared, but praying this is a successful pregnancy for us. :) I hope that I can find encouragement and friends here on the DS site.

Take good care! thinking of you!
Good Luck
Thanks so much for the kind words. I cannot imagine not having the ability to conceive, or even having a hard time. I am so excited that you are almost 16 weeks and I wish you all the best in the world...
I have been teaching fifth grade for ten years now and my husband teaches third. We LOVE having the time off together. Especially this past summer, after losing Keagan, we were able to just get away for awhile and not having to actually take scheduled time off, helped immensely...
We are gonna start trying again in a few weeks, we had to wait at least six months, had to have a c section. Please keep me posted on the baby and yourself...
xoxo, keeping you both in my thoughts...

Hey Jen! Just checking in on you. Hope you are feeling much better since entering the 2nd tri - I know how bad your m/s has been. That is why I have LOVED this cooler weather. Even though I am pretty much done w/ the sickness, I still get nauseated from time to time and now I can just walk outside.....love, love, love Fall weather!!! Are you wanting to find out the sex? If so, when will your OB do the sono? I found out at 17 wks and you are prob right at that now....keep me posted. Big Hugs! Shannon
Thanks
I'm doing fine just little under the weather. Thanks for thinking of me. How are you feeling? Please continue praying for me.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! WE CANNOT WAIT TO FIND OUT THE SEX EITHER! I think it will make it SO much more real - picking out a name, registering, working in the nursery!!! All of the fun stuff!! I have heard of the intelligender test - and was very tempted to get one - but I've waited so long now - I'm going to try and hold out for 2 more weeks : ) I can't wait to hear what you're going to have and that you keep feeling better and better!!

Close Infertility
: Ovarian IssuesPCOS, poor egg/embryo quality, have MTHFR blood disorder and gene mutation.
Treatments
- Adoption Considering
- This is the next journey we'll consider taking if IVF fails us. It'll take a couple of years to find the money though. IVF has taken it ALL. :(
- Artificial Insemination Not Working
- Did 6 of these. Not aggressive enough treatment for me.
- Basal Thermometer Not Working
- This never worked for me. My temp was all over the place during each cycle.
- Clomid Not Working
- Estrogen Patch Somewhat Helpful
- Used after both IVF's. No side effects at all. Didn't even know I was on the drug. Easy use, etc...
- Folic Acid Too Soon to Tell
- Because of the MTHFR I will have to take a cocktail of vitamins including 4 times the normal dose of folic acid that women usually take.
- Follistim Working / Worked
- Great stim drug for me. I really pumped out the 'Mature' eggs on this stim med.
- Ganirelex Not Working
- I understimulated on this stim med. I don't recommend it to anyone! Follistim was MUCH more aggressive at stim'ing and growing eggs.
- HSG (Hysterosalpingography) Too Soon to Tell
- Helped RE know where to place embryos.
- Hysteroscopy Working / Worked
- Helped to identify some scare tissue and a fibroid tumor. Neither seem to impede pregnancy- or so the RE's say...
- In Vitro Fertilization Somewhat Helpful
- 2 rounds, both unsuccessful. Have only 4 frozen and available for FET.
- Lupron Working / Worked
- Whew! Lots of side effects but overall not bad. ;)
- Metformin Working / Worked
- It helps maintain my blood sugar levels and I feel much better on it.
- Ovulation Predictor Kit Working / Worked
- These showed when I had my LH surges, but often came across a bad box of Clear Blue Easys. I switched around brands and found First Response was more reliable.
- Progesterone Too Soon to Tell
- Progesterone Cream Working / Worked
- Used this during the IUI's. Gained weight from it and didn't feel good at all. :(
Close Pregnancy After Loss/Infertility
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 3 years now. We haven't even been able to get pregnant yet. I was diagnosed with MTHFR recently. I understand this can be a cause of miscarraige, birth defects, or even never getting pregnant. I'm looking for other women who might have the MTHFR gene mutation for support and information.
