Close Diabetes Type 2

diagnosed at 45, weak mussles due to ceberal palsy, food and drug allergies, thyroid problmes since 13, born with RH Factor and had to have a complete blood exchange to save my life. Insulin resistant. Father had pre-diabetes and CA of the pancreas.

Treatments

Actos Working / Worked

the worst ever. I suffered every side effect it listed. It almost killed me.

Glyburide Not Working

I did much better with diet and exercise alone. Started on 1/2 of 2.5. Gave me lows down to 40. Then I was put on 1 tab of 1.25. The lows ceased, then put on 1 tab of 2.5 and my BS has been close to or above 200 ever since. Was on Coumadin for a while for a blood clot but now I am off that and my BS is back up.

Insulin (Regular and NPH) Working / Worked

Only in the hospital. My BS was in the 300s to 403. No glyburide while I was in the hospital.

Physical Exercise Working / Worked

I'm a big walker. Try to get out every day that the weater is good which is often. I have had times where exercise will raise my BS.
