I'm 38 years old, a wife, and a mom with a career in the financial industry. I was just diagnosed with Narcolepsy this last December of 2008; although, I've been misdiagnosed for the last 15-20 years with life-altering symptoms that I can recall back into high school. My narcolepsy has greatly progressed over the last two years, intensifying each and every month. It's ironic that I finally have a diagnosis and am getting "treatment," but it's still worse than ever.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Not Working
- Not sure why doc prescribed, but it whacked me out. Not taking it!
- Dexedrine Working / Worked
- I take regular in morning to kick-start my day and then time-released to keep me more functional into the night. Dry-mouth/constipation for side effects. Seems to mostly work. Not good to take when sick with a fever!
- Trazodone Not Working
- Was supposed to help regulate dream states at night and reduce occurance of hypogognic hallucinations at night and sleep paralysis in morning. It DIDN'T. Only interfered with Ambien CR and made it more difficult to get up in the morning.
