      Mood March 9, 2009 11:50am

Was up late at night and decided that I want to try to help and be supportive of others as best I can because that is the only way I have made it …

    • Close Stress Management

Used to always be stressed. Helped care for brother with Muscular Dystrophy. Crazy ex-girlfriend always made me on edge. School and Bipolar disorder also added much to my stress.

      Treatments

      Music Working / Worked
Ambient electronic music calms me down and takes me to a peaceful place.
      Patience Somewhat Helpful
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
I do intense physical exercise swimming at least 3000 yards a day and loading packages for UPS. Keeps me fatigued enough to sleep plus all the benefits of lots of endorphins for mood.
      Lamictal Somewhat Helpful
Helped me stabilize enough to get into a routine and now have transitioned to med free.
    • Close Bipolar Disorder

Been diagnosed Bipolar II for about 6 years. Spent the first 4 on and off meds. The last year I was good about taking them. Now I have weened myself off meds and have been going 3 months strong without any mood swings.

      Treatments

      Lamictal Working / Worked
Worked good while I was on it but just felt like something was lacking from my true self. Helped me stabilize when I needed it though.
      Lithium Somewhat Helpful
Worked good for short-term stabilization but after a while made me feel like a zombie as far as my emotions. Also caused weight gain.
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
The best thing Ive ever done. Without this I cant sleep at night. Always keep myself in a mild fatigued state and reap all the mental and physical benefits that regular exercise provides.
      Stress Management Working / Worked
Work at lowstress job now. Hang around with supportive people.
      Music Working / Worked
Another very useful tool. Especially ambient electronic music that allows me to drift away from it all.
