I'm a 40 yrs. old, married female. We have just one son that is 11 yrs. old. We've been married for 21 yrs. this coming Aug. I just was diagnosed on 3/3/09 with pulmonary embolism and one DVT in my lower left leg. I also have Hypothyroidism, Diabetes Type 2 (controlled by diet), Hypertension, Anemia and High Cholestrol. I had an open Gastric Bypass in Sept. 2001 and lost nearly a 100 lbs but unfortunately have gained about 80 of it back.

I came at this the other way round, they found my PE's thanks to a post chemo CT scan, Hope it's all ok. Not much to feel better about but hopefully if it is cancer they have found it early enough to stop it being serious

Stay positive my friend and remember I'm thinking of you always. I saw the cutest sign in a window the other day as i was walking my dog. I passed a house with a cat in the window and the cat was looking out staring intently at my dog. Below the cat was a sign that read" Got rid of the kids, The cat was allergic"

A Hug and a Prayer for you kiddo, I know it seems like everything is piling up on you and every-time you go to the doctor he just adds one more thing wrong. Have faith and remember your not alone. We are here with you more than ever now. Stay strong.

Just been reading about you. I had a dvt and a pe in 1995. The pe happened very quickly. Was on heparin iv and then put onto warfarin. I got so fed up with all the blood tests. I was told after about 3 years I could stop the Warfarin if my bloods were okay. I would however have to take Cartia which you probably already know as low dose asprin. If I ever get another clot would have to stay on Warfarin for life. Recently my gp told me it's Warfarin or nothing these days. She told me it was okay to stop the Cartia.
