Thanks for the welcome!! It's amazing how liberating that diagnosis can be. After I got over the shock I actually started being grateful for the diagnosis because that meant that there was really something wrong with me and I wasn't that horrible person! :O)
Hi Soffer, welcome to DS
Hi Soffer. I admit to being a bit ticked off by the reply of "BornUnder" in your post. When he told you that your first post was a "little boring....ect." I hope it didn't hurt your feelings. Try to remember what kind of group this is. People are in various stages of dealing with their illness and sometimes people say things that are uncalled for or just plain mean. Don't let his post drive you away. The majority of the time I think you will find most people are kind and supportive. Again, welcome to the group! DebbieX
you will get addicted to those little yellow flags by your messages and hug book. They are almost as much to give as to get.
Happy February 9th just as good a day as any other to celebrate :) Welcome aboard!
I was recently diagnosed as bipolar at the tender age of 50! I've coped with many challenges over the years but a stressful situation with my son pushed me into a deep depression. At first I was diagnosed with major depression but I got worse on antidepressants and I had a manic episode. I also have a family history of bipolar (mom and son)and that's how the doctor knew I am bipolar.
