About Me
I am a retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police after serving for 28 years. I have a wonderful wife and 4 fantastic kids. I love to go boating, skidooing and going for a nice motorcycle ride. I was dx with MS in December 2007. I am currently on Copaxone...I am still going strong, enjoying the things that I love to do.

I'm here... :o) Good to see you here, too. Hope it is a help.
Moment of Peace
Good morning, how are you feeling. This is the longest winters I think I have ever experienced with no chinooks. Looks like a pretty nice boat you're driving, which Lake do you go to? I lived in Edmonton for six months when I was young. I still have a cousin that lives there. Take care Gary. :o)

This is a bit ridiculous even for March, I think. Here, by the weekend it is supposed to be on the plus side. Sure hoping they're right. You keep warm too. hugs, Sharon

Busy or not, I'm lovin' life! Except for the "distraction" of this MS diagnosis, things are going well. Why did you go back to work? Are you doing the same type of work? :)

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Relapsing-remitting MSWow where to begin. I had a bout of double vision back in Feb 2004. Then in the fall of 2005, began to feel foggy in the head, dizzy, always seemed like I was on the outside looking in. Then the tingling and numbness started in the hands, and then the final indicator that prompted an MRI was L'hermittes sign....and that brings us to today...I am currently on Copaxone
Treatments
- Ativan Working / Worked
- I never had anxiety before in my life, at least not to the point where I have it now. I seem to have problems controlling my mood at times, and when I become upset, which can occur often, my symptoms do surface, more so the feeling I get in my head, which I can only describe as being "foggy" and disconnected...it really does help with the muscle spasiticy as well
- Copaxone Working / Worked
- It took awhile for it to kick in, but I feel much better now. I think that it has slowed the progression of the disease, allowing for some re-myelation, as my symptoms are not nearly as noticeable - except for when I get too tired, or too warm. I have had no real problems with the injections, yes I hit the odd muscle which aches afterwards, but other than that, pretty good
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- I have lots of spasticity in my neck, shoulders, and sometimes lower back...sometimes to the point where it throws my neck out of joint. Massaging these areas really does help
