About Me
I lost my beloved wife in Feb. 2009 to hypertensive cardiovascular disease. Besides myself, she left behind 2 children and 5 grandchildren (and one due in August when she passed). There was no apparent immediate threat, but she did have prior health problems and I regret that we did not address them more agressively after the doctors/hospitals had told us they could find nothing seriously wrong. They were wrong. Now I'm left to live on with only memories. I will always love her.

My wife died unexpectedly at 53. She went missing on Feb. 4 and was found on Feb. 8; she had been house-cleaning for a couple that were out of the country. She apparently had fallen ill and laid down on a bed and never got up. We sent the police to the house earlier to look for her, but her car was in the garage and it remained unseen until the couple returned home. I miss her terribly and I am sorry and broken-hearted that I could not be there for her in her final hours.
Treatments
- Grief Counseling Somewhat Helpful
- I feel like the counselor has said all that he can. I don't feel future visits will be beneficial.
Close Bereavement
Type: Loss of a Partner/SpouseMy wife, Rose, died unexpectedly in February. She was 53. The autopsy stated "natural causes", but there is nothing "natural" about death at 53; something went undiagnosed. I live alone in a house that seems much bigger now and certainly more empty. I love and miss her greatly.
Treatments
- Crying Somewhat Helpful
- I cry until empty. Then I can go awhile without crying. Then repeat.
- Grief Counseling Somewhat Helpful
- One session. Helped some. Probably won't go back.
- Remembering Working / Worked
- Her picture is my cellphone wallpaper. I snapped it one afternoon when we were dining out at a local restaurant/bar. I kiss it every time I open it to make or receive a call.
