    • Close Eczema

I was born with atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. my ezcema went into remission when I was about 15 and then came back with a vengeance around age 20. it's been a difficult struggle ever since. a staph infection got into my eczema and made it invincible for five years. due to losing health insurance and some other events, I didn't know this until recently. I broke down and went to a doctor, got healed and recommended for phototherapy, but I just fell sick again about a month ago.

      Treatments

      Clobetasol Somewhat Helpful
clobetasol is good for the tough thick skin areas but my problem is the ezcema in those places still comes back, and not due to regular flare ups but more frequently.
      Eucerin Working / Worked
one of the best moisturizer lotions I've found for ezcema/sensitive skin. the only downside is it makes your skin shiny but that's kind of funny, and it can leave an oily residue from time to time.
      Hydrocortisone Somewhat Helpful
same as the clobetasol. works well on sensitive skin areas where I can't put my triamcinolone, but it still comes back shortly after.
      Triamcinolone Topical Working / Worked
this is my ambrosia. triamcinolone has always worked wonders for me all my life, but recently with the emergence of the tougher eczema on my body it can't get rid of that unfortunately.
      Apple Cider Vinegar Not Working
I heard an old wives tale about apple cider vinegar helping ezcema so I tried it and it definitely made no difference.
    • Close Asthma
      Type: Adult Asthma

I've had asthma since I was 4. I guess on severity it's a little worse than average but it's not so bad I can't deal with it. I think my main challenge with my asthma is feeling frustrated that people don't believe me or understand what it's like to not be able to breathe.

      Treatments

      Advair Somewhat Helpful
this was such an odd contraption! they gave it to me when I had a severe asthma attack when I was out of town and taken to the ER. didn't work as well as my regular inhalers but i give it a little credit at least.
      Albuterol Working / Worked
I have albuterol both in inhaler form and nebulizer form and it seems to work OK. definitely makes me shaky in nebulizer form though so be careful if you have to drive afterwards.
Breathing Exercises Too Soon to Tell
just started doing Yoga on my Wii fit and it has some good breathing exercises. I hear my wheezes while I'm doing them so hopefully it will help in the future and I won't hear it anymore.
      Flovent Considering
well, this is one of those "long term preventative inhalers" and I don't really have a way of knowing if it worked or not since I still have my asthma and I've been using those for years.
      QVAR Considering
well, this is one of those "long term preventative inhalers" and I don't really have a way of knowing if it worked or not since I still have my asthma and I've been using those for years.
      Singulair Not Working
I took Singulair for about 6 months and it did nothing for me unfortunately.
      Maxair Considering
well this is one of those long term preventative inhalers and I dont really have a way of knowing if it worked or not since I still have my asthma and Ive been using those for years.
