Close Glaucoma
I was diagnosed with glaucoma when I was 11. I have been on drops, and have had 8 surgeries to control my glaucoma. My pressures have remained around 10 in both eyes, but in the past couple years, I have developed pingueculas and very red eyes. I am very frustrated, and was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this. My eyes are very dry, also. I am now 27, and am married soon and am already dreading pictures. I don't mean to sound negative, just curious how everyone else feels.
Treatments
- Alphagan P Working / Worked
- I currently use Alphagan not to control my pressures (the surgeries do that for me), but it is the only drop that temporarily cures the redness in my eyes. I use sparingly, and unfortunately it is over $100 for a 10mL bottle.
- Surgery, Trabeculoplasty Working / Worked
- Working, but came with some side effects. VERY red eyes, and I can't participate in any contact sports. I also can't do any type of diving with my family.
- Timoptic Not Working
- Didn't work...which was why surgery was needed.
