I've had endo for about 10 years. I've had IC of the bladder for almost 5 years.. including a few other things. I am on medical leave from work, but when I did work, I worked for an insurance company handling claims, and was a part time law student.

hello :-) 5 year of IC huh? ughh you have been through hell and back already huh? Welp welcome to DS and yea there is lots of nice people hear esp in the IC section. Going on 3 years of this IC nightmare myself and I kn ow how ya feel. Good Luck :-)

Close Endometriosis
I have had endo since the age of 15, I am getting ready to have surgery for the 5th time. I am more less looking for a support system. It is hard dealing with this all. I was able to work many years, but in the last year my health has really gone down the tubes. =( I have about 5 other things besides endo, including IC of the bladder, I am on medical leave from work. So yeah, thats my story. lol
Treatments
- Aygestin Somewhat Helpful
- worked, however, they would never keep me on it long term. Once I went off it, the bleeding would start. However, I still had cramps while taking it.
- Extended-Cycle Birth Control Not Working
- Was on every kind of birth control. Never helped. I had never ending break through bleeding.
- Hysteroscopy Considering
- I may be out of options.
- Laser Surgery Working / Worked
- Getting ready to have my 5th surgery. Helped for about 2 years, then had surgery again. My last surgery was 4 years ago.
- Mirena Not Working
- Had it removed within a month. Caused way tooo much pain and bleeding.
- NuvaRing Not Working
- Was on it for almost 6 months. Did not work.
- Provera Somewhat Helpful
- They kept me on it for only a short time.
- Surgery Somewhat Helpful
- Had it 4 times.
- Lupron Somewhat Helpful
- It helped the first 3 times I was on it. I am on my 4th round. Does not seem to be helping. Side effects hot flashes sad feeling bleeding cramps.
Close Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
I have had IC of the bladder for about 5 years. I have had two hydro's since, and having another one in less then a month.
Treatments
- Bladder Distention Somewhat Helpful
- First one worked WONDERS. Second one, did not help as much. Due to my other problems. The only side effect was blood in my urine after, and the pain. other wise it is great!
- Bladder Instillation Somewhat Helpful
- The only side effect was buring when going to the bathroom, after the install.
- Elmiron Not Working
- Was on it for 6 months. Never really helped.
Open Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Treatments
- Aloe Vera Working / Worked
- Its amazing! love it No side effects
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Somewhat Helpful
- helps somewhat
- Bentyl Somewhat Helpful
- It helped for awhile. Still cannot pass stool.
- Probiotics Working / Worked
- Working somewhat. no side effects
