Close Hysterectomy
Had a hysterectomy in 2005 for complex, atypical hyperplasia which turned into cancer within 3 months of diagnosis. My GYN stated that I was a unique case seeing that I was/am still a virgin. I sometimes get angry that I'll never know what it's like to feel life growing inside me, but I'm coping well so far.
Close Uterine Cancer
"Reader's digest version"--was diagnosed initally with PCOS, and complex, atypical endometrial hyperplasia (march, 2005). Was given three options: D&C, Progesterone, or hysterectomy. Within 3 months, it became full-blown enomertial cancer. I had a hysterectomy w/ 10 lymph nodes removed as well. i've had clear screenings since surgery. And thank God, no chemo or rads.
Open Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
Went undiagnosed since age 16. Was diagnosed at age 36. At that time was also diagnosed with hyperplasia. Within two months the hyperplasia had become uterine cancer.
Treatments
- Metformin Working / Worked
- By the time I was diagnosed, I had developed Type 2 diabetes. My A1C's have continued to be under 6.0. Only side effect I've experienced is constidation/gas.
