Prayer
I am praying for you je9je9. I know it can be frustrating that BM is calling a lot and asking a child of seven why he didn't call. We as Foster parents have to have patient and understand that he is in foster care for a reason and the birth mom is probably doing the best she can with what she has. She may not have the ability to communicate with him and he is seven and he loves Ma regardless, but he is saying la la la because that's all he knows to say and probably is bored with her asking him the same question. However, I would not stop the calls but just be patient because at least she is trying she needs a lot of help. May God bless you and the child, also the birth mother, try to empathize with her. She has lost her child temporary regardlless the reason she loves him and he still loves her.

Close Foster Care
We've been fostering what CPS is considering a family member for about a month. It's going well, but I am looking for some support.
Close Bipolar Disorder
Have been diagnosed 15+ yrs. Misdiagnosed 10 yrs. before that. Had a very rocky time, but am stable now. Still, look for support.
Treatments
- Depakote Somewhat Helpful
- Can't remember. I took it a long time ago when I was very unstable.
- Group Therapy Working / Worked
- Was in a really good group, but lost it when everyone without coupons (I have Medicare, not Medicaid) got kicked out of the Mental Health Center.
- Lithium Not Working
- Didn't do a lot for me other than give me an upset stomach.
- Risperdal Working / Worked
- Worked, but made me a fat slug with no motivation.
- Seroquel Working / Worked
- Great stuff. Am on it now and swear by it.
- Tegretol Working / Worked
- Worked, but my blood levels would drop for no reason and then I'd cycle.
- Topamax Working / Worked
- Works great. Side effects can be a pain, but it's what has kept me stable.
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- Works great for me. Keeps the edge off of depression, anxiety.
- Trilafon Working / Worked
- Small dose works great.
