Close Hepatitis C
Contracted HCV genotype A1 from a blood transfusion as an infant in 1978. Diagnosed when I was 17 after I gave blood. Since then I've had three biopsies, five doctors, a couple of herbalists and an awful lot of fun living my life. The worry finally caught up to me though and started treatment through a drug trial 12/08. VL was 1.24 million when I started. Stage 1.5, Grade 2.
Treatments
- Interferon, pegylated Too Soon to Tell
- Not a big fan of injecting myself but I'm managing. Almost no side effects.
- Ribavarin Too Soon to Tell
- Makes my heart beat fast and my skin itch.
- Acupuncture Working / Worked
- Tried this for the itchy skin. It worked great. The mouth sores cleared up too.
- Yoga Working / Worked
