About Me
I am a 51 years young disabled nurse. I have SLE (lupus), Fibro and Myoclonus and suffered a stroke 3 1/2 years ago which ended my nursing career. I miss nursing so much. I have been married five years in May. My husband is also a nurse currently working in corrections. I have 2 grown sons my oldest is married and has given me a wonderful daughter-in-law and 3 beautiful grandchildren. Oldest 9 years old girl and 8 years old boy and 2 1/2 years old girl. and my youngest son is gay and the very best son a mother should ever hope for. He is single. But he has a dog that treats like a baby. I call him my "granddoggy" LOL. I also have 2 step-daughters. 21 years old. Living in PA. and 19 years old who moved here to attend college she lives with us. I always say, I NOW KNOW WHY GOD GAVE ME BOYS LOL. I live in Fl. I have been here off and on for 17 years I am from CT and spent 2 years in PA and it was tooo cold. so i came back to my weather. I have alot more pain when it is cold. Well I have talked about me enough. it's strange because I am usually a very private person. Noone even knew I was sick except my boss. Well I look forward being a part a this community.

Interests
Making jewerly (I started it in rehab from my stroke) I also like reading, baking, I decorate cakes. I have made my grandchildren's birthday cakes every year except one. I had my stroke 1 day before my grandson's 5th birthday I was on vacation.

Close Fibromyalgia
I am a disabled Nurse. I was Dx in 05, also SLE in 05 and myoclonus 03 and stroke 05.
Treatments
- Cyclobenzaprine Working / Worked
- I take 10mg 3 times a day. It is working.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- I take 1200 mg 2 times a day. It helps with pain.
- Klonopin Working / Worked
- I take it for my myoclonus. It helps my jerking and jumping motions also restless legs syndrome.
- Darvon Working / Worked
- I take 2 tabs daily for pain. It doesnt worked all the time. I have to take Percocet for breakthrough pain about 4 times a month.
- Crestor Working / Worked
- Works on lowering my bad cholestrol but now my good cholestrol is low.
- Tricor Working / Worked
- Im not sure if it is working yet. I havent had blood work done yet.
Open Chronic Pain
I am 51 years old. I have in pain most of life but finally diagnosed in 03 with myoclonus 04 with SLE and Fibro and suffered a stroke in 05.
Treatments
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- I did not do well on it. It actually increased my pain. So I had to stop it. It still take Neurontin.
- Mobic Working / Worked
- It works the same as Naproxen.
- Topamax Working / Worked
- It gave me severe migraine headaches.
- Darvon Working / Worked
- Helps some it depends on what I am doing or weather.
Open Stroke
I am a 51 years young female. I had a stroke 3 1/2 years ago, which ended my nursing carrer. I have short-term memory and with alot of PT on OT am able to walk with a cane. I still have some weakness on my right side. I am right handed. I still have some numbness ocassionally and if I can't see what is in my hand I will drop it. I am often depressed because my husband is also a nurse and is actually working in one of my old positions as a correctional nurse. Well I would love to chat.
Treatments
- Aspirin Too Soon to Tell
- Crestor 10 mg QD and Tricor 145 mg QD, Haven't had blood tests redone yet.
