About Me
My name is Shane. Im a Junior in High School and was recently diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma Stage 3. For some reason or another this whole thing never really sunk in. I never cried much. maybe it was the other major events that happened earlier in my life that made this one seem like not such a big deal. regardless, the only time i would get really down is when the people around me treated this like it was bigger deal than i thought it was. That seemed to always get to me no matter what. Fortunately, that's not so much the case.

Shes in another support group online, not sure the name of it, she didn't want me in the same one..l guess this way she could talk about things without upsetting me...l understand...she needed her space from mom....last night she was getting to go home, they socked her with tons of anti nausea meds, they have her coming in friday as an out patient, for some white blood cell booster shot and another petscan...shes wasn't kinda pissy mood on the phone so we didn't talk much yesterday but I will have a good talk later today onces shes finished todays treatments..please keep well and god bless

HI...well, life has taken another turn...my daughters hodgkins came back worse than ever, stage 4 and we had quite a scare...her lung has a huge mass and collapsed, with a blood clot, shes now in the hospital having a very aggressive treatment proticol...please, take care and make sure you watch for anything not feeling right, question question question, she listened to people on her web support group that told her her shortness of breath and cough were side affects of chemo...well it wasn't! It was her hodgkins spreading very quickly in and on one of her lungs.

I'm so happy to hear your finished your treatment..my daughter finished last sept...then feb she found out she has thyroid cancer, its common to get it after, but not usually this quickly...she had the surgery and has her treatment next week, shes been very possitive and keeps smiling..l wish the same for you...keep smiling, appreciate all the good things in your life and focus on those...don't let little things stress you, as you said, its not healthy...and god bless!

Close Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Type: Mixed-Cellularity Hodgkin'sJust going to keep it simple. I've Had digestive problems throughout my life. then last october in my sophmore year of high school my neck lymph nodes started swelling up and i was having trouble breathing. eventually in mid november i was misdiagnosed with mono and after a pet scan, was admitted to loma linda. After numerous miscalculated biopsies (those were fun) i was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma stage 3. so here i am finished with chemo, begining radiation, and felling like my old self
Treatments
- ABVD Working / Worked
- Chemotherapy Working / Worked
- no problems with chemo besides smells associated with it making me nauseas after its done. Doctor says i'm an early responder. Hair fell out of course.and then came back. it usually takes me a day until i was back on my feet. Its strong, but its helpful
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- worked for me! made the swelling in my neck dissapear and opened up my throat right away! only downsides are the instant gagging if you don't swallow the pills right away and the lost sense of being full hahaha
