About Me
I'm 30 years old. I have a host of conditions like Type 2 Diabetes, High blood pressure and a disease call charcot-marie-tooth disease. What I didn't expect was that I also have Deep Vein Thrombosis. In January of 2009, I was taken to the ER.I went there because I was experiencing discomfort in my chest, which I believed was a bad case of heartburn. After a series of tests including echocardiograms, a stress test and a Lung scan, I was proved right. Thank God. After listening to me describe my family history of heart attack and stroke the ER doctor ordered a blood test to determine the possibility of blood clots. The blood test and a ultrasound of my legs were positive for DVT in both legs. I was admitted into the hospital for 10 days and discharged on Warfarin and Aspirin. I admit I wasn't aware of how serious DVT is until I got home and started researching DVT online for myself. With the help of this support group, at Daily Strength, I'm learning more each day.

Interests
I love to read Sci-fi and comedy novels and watch Japanese anime.I'm also hooked on The Sims 2 PC game.I study the Bible with Jehovah's witnesses, wanting to be closer to God.I'm sure I have other interest that I have'nt discovered yet.

Close Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
I was taken to the ER for chest discomfort.While nothing is wrong with my heart,thank God,I was diagonsed with DVT in both legs.
Treatments
- Coumadin Too Soon to Tell
- none so far,maybe a little lethargic sometimes.
Close Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease
I was dignosed with CMT in 2003 through genetic testing.Since then I have become wheelchair bound and have lost a great deal of function in my hands.I can no longer write with a pencil or take care of my daily needs.
Open Loneliness
I'm a 30 year old single and physically handicapped female. I live with my father in the metro-Detroit area. I have 3 brothers and a sister. I come from a medium sized family,but as the middle child I've always felt lonely and family responsibilities prevented me from making close friends as a teenager. As I've gotten older and my handicap became apparent,my isolation and loneliness has become almost unbearable.
