      Mood April 4, 2009 11:13am

As my first step towards getting my life back on track, I need to file my taxes, which I have been avoiding.  Obviously, because I am very low …

Not to worry about getting back to me. We're all busy from time to time. I've been busy myself with one of my dogs ailing (all better now) and trying to get my garden started this year in planting bins in my basement. I can't plant outside till May 1st because of the climate here. Have a great day and no stress!!!

It seems we both have places in our hearts for homeless, unwanted people (my favorite charity is the "Milwaukee Rescue Mission") and animals.

    • Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
      Type: Relapsing-remitting MS

I am a 54 year old woman who wa diagnosed with RRMS ihn 2005. I have become disabled because of cognitive dysfunction and could no longer do my job as a homelessness case manager. As withmany with MS, especially women, I have actually had this disease for many years - with many misdiagnoses along the way. I am grieving for my lost intellect and am having a hard time accomplishing anything productive in my life. I am afraid.

      Treatments

      Betaseron Somewhat Helpful
I think I have not felt well since I started Betaseron, often feel sick, but as far as I know - no relapses. I can't tell.
      Copaxone Working / Worked
I loved it except for major injection site reactions, and had to discontinue due to respiratory reactions. I felt good on it and had no relapses for 2 years.
      Neurontin Working / Worked
Good for my pain but affects fatigue and cognitive functioning. I am trying to reduce how much I take.
      Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
      Helpful while doing it.
      Provigil Working / Worked
Just started - it does help with fatigue but I am still mentally disorganized - we'll see.
      Symmetrel Not Working
Mimimal relief from fatigue, major negative interaction with hydrochlorothiazide - drug induced SLE. Discontinued 3 years ago.
      Ultram Working / Worked
Pain relief works very well occasional breakthroughs of severe pain but better than nothing. Am afraid of becoming dependent on pain killers having to take another pill to address side effects!
      Prozac Too Soon to Tell
Small dose 10 mg not sure seemed to make me more depressed as did the Provigil when I started that. Will continue hopefully itll make me feel better and help with myelin repair. I asked to be put on it because of reports I read of the benefits of Prozac on MS lesions. I have also of late become very depressed.
      Synthroid Working / Worked
After 2 years on Copaxone I simultaneously developed hypothyroidism high blood pressure high cholesterol abnormal liver enzymes and type 2 diabetes. After much work I got rid of the diabetes HBP high Cholesterol and high liver enzymes but still have low thyroid. Seems to work well.
