Took Kodi in today to the vet. Mixed results- still very concerned for him, as we won't know till tomorrow what is wrong. At least hopefully we will know then.
*No x-rays today as the radigraph tech was not there. X-rays now sceduled for tomorrow (Thurs.). They will do hip/ stifle/ hock x-rays. They will also check articular cartilage, synovial membrane, tendons, and ligaments.
*Possible torn ACL or soft tissue injury. Might even be a subtle fracture although doubtful as there is no sign of pronounced swelling. Might be cranial cruciate ligament damage- which could lead to an arthritic condition requiring necessary surgical stabilization. Articular and/ or joint damage is a possibility.
*Was told that some soft tissue and joint injuries may take 6 to 8 weeks to completely heal.
*For tonight- was perscribed aspirin or metacam for discomfort/ inflammation.
Back to the vet tomorrow morning for x-rays. Thanks to all that have shown concern. It has become very difficult to helplessly watch as he continues to suffer. Normally such a happy and energetic little guy......this is heartbreaking.

Anthony, why take the rain and not a sunny day?......."with all its shams, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy." Don't get me wrong in this.....I am n-o-t a Pollyanna with my head buried in the sand. At times, I find myself where you say you are. Life is too short not to take advantage of what little time we have. Trust me, I'm not preaching......just extending a hand. Hope tomorrow will be better for you. Joanie

I know this is hard to watch your little guy go through so much pain, I'm so sorry, but have faith! He WILL be okay, and he has a great caretaker :)

Oh honey, I just now read this. How is he doing? Having just dealt with my own soft tissue injury, I can tell you he is doing exactly what he needs to do to heal...just rest, rest, rest. Please let us know how he is doing and try not to worry, our little soulmates are SO resilient.

Aw hon I know how hard it is to watch them in pain; but sounds like he has a great person taking care of him and I think he knows it too. Our little furbabies give so much they're worth anything we can do for them, huh?
