    • About Me

I was diagnosed with CML in August 2008. At the time of my diagnosis, I was experiencing a lot of fatigue, thought it was due to a thyroid problem or adrenals, and found out it was CML. I quit work right away because I was so weak. I'm doing pretty well now and starting to think about going back to work after almost 7 months off. My husband is supportive and wants me to continue healing before I think of returning to work. I've just started back to a yoga class that I was attending before the diagnosis, and it's helping me a lot. CML has been a life changing experience for me, and I'm determined to get to the underlying cause for my case. I've done quite a bit of research and am approaching my healing from a number of different modalities including allopathic, naturopathic, energetic, psychological, spiritual, nutritional... I'm interested in connecting with others who live with CML.

I realize that you provided me with info about bone marrow tests and I thanked someone else. So, thx! I read your profile with interest. I'm jealous (and glad for you) that your husband is so supportive and realizes the stress that a job can bring when you are dealing with CML. Keep that jewel! My husband ended our 36yr relationship four months after my diagnosis. What a crushing blow. Good luck in your job hunt.

I was diagnosed with CML in August 2008 after a routine blood test. Though I was experiencing low energy and fatigue at the time I was surprised to get the leukemia diagnosis. I quit work right away, and I've pretty much been home healing for the last 6 months. I just started back to yoga 3 weeks ago, and I'm beginning to consider work again. I live with my husband and our 2 cats and 2 dogs. They've all been very supportive through this life changing experience.

      Gleevec Working / Worked
My blood count returned to normal within 3 weeks of taking Gleevec. I had terrible leg pain for the first 5 months and had to take both vicoden and ibprofin. But now, the pain only comes now and then so I'm almost completely off the pain meds! I've found that if I take the Gleevec with a piece of toast and a meal
