Artist/writer/musician and cat lover. The cat in profile is my therapy cat, Miah, if it were not for him in last two years, I truely would have been mental...well, more mental...LOL Enjoy music, working on my classic Saab, not into the bar-scene, and being a gay male, it makes it really limiting as far as making friends in a new city. Love nature, hikng, taking in a sunset or sunrise or an intense thunderstorm or a full moon; these are some of my favorite things. I am 5-8, stocky, as I was a heavy weapons specalist in USAF for 8 yrs; not a materialistic person at all nor fall victim to slavish consumerism and marketing, and down to Earth personality. I have been working on myself with therapy for many years for an anxiety disorder and three years ago found out am HIV POZ, and having overtly FundaMental Christan parents, the gay thing has always placed a void between us but once my brother told my parents of my health, they sent a few Bibles in mail wth a letter explaning how they had been *praying* for me to get AIDS since I am an abominaton. Yes folks, that is why I joined this daily support, as I have some pretty difficult emotional days, not to mention medication side effects, and perpheral neuropathy from HIV itself--not meds-- which has made me disabled.... having no family support and few friends in a new city of three years, hoping to get some comfort meetng some good souls on here and reading other people's struggles and finally successes! Me in a nutshell.

Interests
Music, writing, oil painting and visual art in-general, playing and writng keyboard music. Since I am a disabled Veteran, and do not work anymore, I plan on doing multi-media artwork and writing a book and children's book and illustrating it. Activist/Politcal, prior to my disabilty status, was working for the AFLCIO as a community organizer and still participate in events and an active blogger, and am an alien living amongst you...we are almost done, we just need to do a little more probing yet. Dark sense of humor, and enjoy good Engish humor, SciFi, and am a living X-File. Friends across the globe encouraged! Peace!

- Atripla Working / Worked
- Due to a resistant strain, been my med for almost three years with great results, with abysmal #s in the beginning. I still have the "dreams", but as a visual artist/writer and musician, my ID Dr. was not worried about me having a "Psychotic Episode" since I also have a severe anxiety disorder. I do have nausea in mornings, and GI issues for over 4 months with all kinds of tests--all negative, wondering if anyone else gets the human-soft-serve-machine-syndrome with Atripla? Peace, Robert
Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
suspected Crohn's, diarrhea for over 5 1/2 months, had alot of tests, Dec 18 is earliest I can get in for my GI Spec. follow-up...has nothing to do with my hiv, as that is under control, going to try a more intense probiotic suppliment between now and then so that can be ruled-out. Do not want to spend Holidays in Hosp room!

- tried to avoid all dairy to narrow that out....now the only form of relief I have is if I simply don't eat much at all.
- Dietary Modification Not Working
- Fiber/Metamucil
- Flagyl Working / Worked
- 14 months ago I had C-Diff from an anitibiotiic that killed all good flora and I was on this for a couple courses, but with my current chronic diarrhea of 5 1/2 months, no organisms/parasites, etc. have been found on multiple tests....so many diagnostic tests that Medicare is forcing me to make Appeals in order to get them covered...talk about needing healthcare reform!
- Lomotil Somewhat Helpful
- It will not stop the 6 morning ass-flushes, but eventually helps later in day but theen makes me sleep...then when I get up, gravity seems to tug on my bowels, cramping and well, you know the rest.
- Prednisone Considering
- Because steroids can suppress the immune system, like taking poison to me.
- Probiotics Not Working
- Activia is going to have to give me a refund!
