Sounds right on. I've been doing this surgeon/PT dance for 12 years now and I know the flushing/freezing hands, and all the symptoms you mentioned. I've had six surgeries. I'd do as much as you can to get things under control with your PT, just be wary about trying to do too much strengthening. If you work on long and gentle stretches daily and find ways to sit up very straight with shoulders back and down wherever you are - even in the car. I could speak volumes to this, but good to hear you are finding relief. You definitely are on the right track in my humble opinion. ;o)

Welcome aboard, Billy. I saw your post. I was diagnosed with RA 3 years ago. The worst of it was definitely in the beginning. I was so afraid that I'd have to go through life feeling as I did then (at that point barely able to walk). I was put on Methotrexate (one of the more typical meds used), and in about 4 months the effects finally kicked in and I started to feel more normal. I did get some nausea from it though, so I switch to the methotrexate shots. I had even better improvement when I did that, and no nausea. The folks on this board vary from mild to severe RA, and you'll see so many different symptoms, pain levels, etc. I guess I just want to say that if you can, take a deep breath..it's definitely going to take a few months to sort out the meds, etc if you have RA, but w/in a year you'll feel more like yourself. Please feel free to reach out to any and all if you have questions. Take care, Lisa
