      Hi, hope you had a good 4th. My docs are talking surgery. Did you have open or lapro? I am talking with both a general and a colon surgeon. they also just found an ovarian cyst, I may have to have removed. Any info you could give me on the surgery would be helpful. thx amanda

      I had a 3-month run-in with diverticulitis that would not resolve with oral antibiotics. Four CT scans, three ER visits, three hospitalizations, and the sacrifice of 1 foot of colon on Feb 4, 2009.

      Treatments

      Cipro Somewhat Helpful
      Didn't work in the long run. The infection never really cleared up. It may have worked better intravenously.
      Flagyl Not Working
      It did not clear up the infection and I had to have surgery. The side effects were unpleasant.
