Hang in there!!!
I have had increasing problems with my stomach (just below the diaphram for several years. It came and went periodically for years, noticed most symptoms with activity. Over the past 5 years, I have had problems in things as simple as pushing a vacume cleaner or climbing stairs and walking distances without having to stop and let my stomach relax. Now, I just get up out of bed in the am and the symptoms start so, I have to sit back down and wait for the symptoms to reside. My physician feels that I have a sliding hiatal hernia and is going to try some new medication for symtom relief. So, I am hoping this will be the alternative to surgery.
I am a 46yr old female. I am a RN and Long Term Care Administrator. Started having what I called "Stomach Spasms" in the upper GI area just under the diaphram about 11 yrs ago. At that time it just came and went and was most noticeable with activity. Over the past 5 yrs, it has become worse. My doctor thinks I have a sliding Hiatal Hernia and is in the process of tring a new med for relief. I am hoping this will be an alternative to surgery.
46 Year old female. Getting ready to have surgery for repair of Sliding Hiatal Hernia. Have smoked for 20 yrs. Goal is to quit before surgery ( which is only 11 days away). I'm going to try this cold turkey (used patches etc. in past). My stop date is Sun. April 19.2009.
