Wow, things have changed while I was gone!
Hello all! Warm kind thoughts heading to each and all of you.
I've been off the internet for pretty much a few months while I've been trying to work on my life in the 'real' world, trying to get things happening and readjusting to where I am in life. End result? Well - I'm feeling generally pretty good these days and I know that there is still more to work on - but I'm in a much better place than I was this time last year.
I've been seeing a psychologist who has given me lots of different directions to take my life to the next level. She has suggested lots of things that I will pass on to the groups here because I think it could help some people. 1. A book called "Manage you pain" for people suffering from chronic pain (not me - but after the long illness with my back injury some of the thought patterns were related to ones in the book so it was helpful to get me to challenge them). Think I have already posted info on this in the back pain group. 2. A book called "Feeling good" by Dr David Burns - an excellent book that helps with cognitive behaviour therapy for people suffering from depresssion. 3. A book called "Intimate connections" (not sure about that title - I'll correct myself later if its wrong) to help people who are suffering from loneliness to get back into the swing of personal connections with people. 4. Heaps of useful tips and tricks that have helped my weeks become less of a chore and more something to enjoy again.
I still need to get a job and thats my current hurdle. I recently finished up some voluntary work I was doing rationalising that ending it will enable me to look full time for (part time) work and thats my current challenge.
I've made a few friends in the 'real' world who arent perfect but lets face it neither am I! And they do seem to be decent people - what more can I ask for right now? So life is looking up on the whole - I hope life is looking up for most of you too! I'm looking forward to cataching up with my emails - apologies to any who have been unanswered.
Thanks for being interested to read this - lots of kind thoughts heading your way!
Take care ;)
