Close Pseudotumor Cerebri
Noticed some vision loss in July 2008, diagnosed PTC after 1st LP in Dec 08. Vision returned with first treatment, but pressure is still too high. Headaches constant, but rarely disabling.
Treatments
- Topamax Too Soon to Tell
- Diagnosed 121508. Began 500mg Diamox Sequels 2xday and lost vision returned immediately but I was so sedated that after 5 days I was unable to drive or work and was switched to Lasix 20mg 2xday. Unfortuneately my pressure was still too high on the Lasix and I tried another round of Diamox with the same results as before. I started Topamax just a few days ago as many of you know this is my last chance before I will have to look at getting a lumbar shunt.
Close Sleep Apnea
After being sleepy for about 10 years, finally got steered towards a sleep specialist. The obstructive sleep apnea was no surprise given my weight--it was the central apnea that was the shocker. So, I feel I'm stuck w/the VPAP for life.
