HI Shelley62
Just wondering how you are getting on/feeling just now? Do you feel any improvement generally since your surgery? I hope so. Thinking of you and wishing you well. Rosie6 x -

lol love the same character bit! Had a 4 hr ogtt alongside a gonadatrophin stimulation test on weds so waiting now. Lucky enough to meet a lady with acromegaly there ( I saw it straight away) anyway we got talking and she said she could see it in my face, in a nice way tho, this made me bit weepy and set her off then as she thought she'd upset me, but I got teary in relief as was first time anyone had said so, all medics have said as you know ( "you don't look acro........). So was nice to meet someone, she has a stubborn bugger there , 9 years on after 2 ops and RT, now stabilized on Somatuline I think she said. So awaiting results, if negative then what the hell is it.....?
cheers for now, Moley x -

I'm sorry to read you are worried about regrowth of the tumor. I don't know about the rate of regrowth after surgery but I would expect that your endo will tell you that anyways the size of the tumor (and thus the rate of progress) is not necessarily a valid indicator of your possible symptoms as many have small tumor that produces high igf and lots of symptoms while others have large tumors that are not so active in producing high igf levels and symptoms. In any case I guess only a MRI will tell you if you still have a tumor and when your Doc sees it and analyses your next blood results he will tell you about the next best course of treatment. I'm hoping for the best for you.

I hope you are experiencing some positive clinical changes following the surgery. I guess we all would like once the tumor is out, just to go about our lifes without thinking about acro... unfortunately we will always have reminders and blood tests and life will never be the same. But hopefully you have benefits and things are better than before.

What a cruel disease this is :-(
one day at a time is my motto for now. I hope you are feeling well Shelley, i see that you had your surgery recently also and hope that you have recovered as much as possible. We have to keep reminding ourselves of he good things we have in our lives and realise how lucky we are.

Thanks Shelley, I'm feeling very good physically, hard to believe im after a surgery at all. Unfortunately i dont think i'll be a success story, My period never arrived when it was supposed to and my GP has suggested that my pituitary function has probably been knocked out. i'm devastated obviously but just dont know for certain until i get tests done over the next few months. Not getting my hopes up though.
Thanks again for your support, this site is the only thing keeping me sane at the moment xx -
