I am an Occupational Therapist and I work with children with developmental disabilities. I am a grandmother of 3. Four years ago I was lucky enough to marry my movie-star handsome best friend. Together we have traveled to many exotic places and hope to visit many more. I love my life, and I want to participate in it as fully as I can.

Close Fibromyalgia
I have had fibro since childhood. I'm in my early 50's and it has gotten worse in the past few years. Recently, I was in a car wreck that injured my neck and upper back. Most days my pain level is close to unbearable, but I try to stay positive. I just focus on bringing love and pleasure into my life. :-)
Treatments
- Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
- I LOVE my hot tub!!! I do my stretches in it on bad days. It's also a great place to meditate.
- Cyclobenzaprine Working / Worked
- Hate the side effects--sleepiness, mental fog--but sometimes it is the only thing to break the spasms.
- Heat Working / Worked
- Sometimes heat is just what I need. Ice works well for active inflammation.
- Morphine Not Working
- Bad side-effects and does nothing for the pain. Fibro is neurogenic pain, and opiates don't work for that kind of pain.
- TENS Working / Worked
- My chiropractor uses this and it helps.
- Trazodone Working / Worked
- I still take it even though it doesnt seem to work as well as it used to. It has side effects but they are minimal.
- Vitamin B12 Working / Worked
- It helps with the tingling in my fingertips and toes.I just take a supplement.
- Vitamin D Working / Worked
- Everyone with fibro needs to be checked for low vitamin D levels. I take 1200 IU daily and it really helps reduce the flareups.
- Yoga Working / Worked
- I did yoga a couple of times a week. It was sooo good for my body and my mind. I miss it so much since my accident.
- Meditation Working / Worked
- I would be insane if not for meditation and that is no exageration. Prayer is when I talk to God meditation is when I listen.
