You have been through so much and for so long Granin. I hope you are doing ok. I too have Accromegaly but I suppose looking back I could put some things down to ageing but just over a year ago it hit me with a bang and luckily my GP diagnosed me quickly enough. I had a macro adenoma and have had 2 surgeries but still have residual tumour. They are talking about radiosurgery for me as the next step and I am awaiting an appointment. What option did you choose in the end?
I do feel very well now and have lots of energy ( I am not on any medication) but my IGF and GH figures are still too high.

      Hope you are doing well.

I'm back home today after my translabial surgery. No regrets at all.I felt more comfortable with this surgeon, he had more experience even if he's using an older technique.

Thanks Granin - we all have our good and bad days don't we. It's difficult sometimes to keep that positive outlook, but reassuring to know that you can be honest with people here, as they know what everyone's going through. Things could be so much worse, and we have to count ourselves lucky that things aren't as bad as they could easily be. Take care xx

    • Close Acromegaly

After the last 5 or 6 years of becoming increasingly uncomfortable with my appearance but not being able to put my finger on it, I stepped down from my office job to start nursing school. During the first month or two we studied the endocrine system. There was a description of acromegaly and I recognized almost all of my symptoms. and she basically wrote me off fromthat point on. My PCP, however, didn't laugh and now I am on a fast track to a diagnosis.
